More winter advice

  • Stay connected
Winter can be a difficult time to stay in touch, particularly for older people. We have launched a new booklet for people over 55 to help them stay connected to their communities throughout the year. It includes contact information on befriending and home visiting schemes, clubs and places to meet people, activities, support with finances, transport schemes and volunteering.
  • Help the vulnerable and homeless
Let us know about people living rough in cold and severe weather, phone 01634 333 600.
There is also a rough sleeper alert operated by Pathways to Independence. During severe weather we implement the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol.
  • Get your chimney swept
Keep yourself, your home and business safe from chimney fires. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has launched a new free alert system.
